The perfect engagement shoot
The sun was shining on a perfect autumnal day as I drove down to beautiful Langsett Reservoir in Yorkshire's stunning Peak District for Tash and Luke's engagement shoot. This was the first time that I got spend some quality time with Tash and Luke before their wedding at The Woodman Inn in Thunderbridge, Huddersfield, in March (very excited photographer here!) and this couple of hours away from suburbia felt even more special with everything that was going on around us and the impending #lockdown2.
We started off with a short walk while we chatted through the challenges of planning and photographing a wedding during a pandemic and how totally amazing it is to have something so lovely to look forward to at the moment!
Creative photography that loves light
Like all my photography, I like to keep engagement shoots as natural as possible, and we were able to make maximum use of the stunning light that was streaming across the lake, the fantastic green ferns and autumn leaves in the woods and the gorgeous low light scenes amongst the trees.
We chased the sun up the hill behind the reservoir and we had a good laugh climbing over walls - much to the amusement of any passers by!
As we headed back down the hill the sun was starting to set and we noticed an almost deserted little valley with a stream running through it. The light couldn't have been more perfect for some spectacular couple photographs and Luke got into the spirit of things by lifting and twirling Tash around for some ace shots!
Wedding photography joy!
The shoot conjured some serious wedding excitement and we talked through some of my plans for the day as well as some fun ideas from Tash and Luke, and there was time for a few more photographs en-route back to the cars before the sun disappeared. What an excellent afternoon - can't wait for the wedding!
Much love Xx
